- MathsTeacha is a mathematics e-teaching and e-learning tool. Learners can learn mathematics both at school and at home, with or without the assistance of the teachers.
- It is a very good tool for parental guidance and supervision of learners. Parents do not have to know mathematics to use this learning tool. All they do is monitor the performance of their child after doing an activity either to see if the learner did do their work or to check on the progress of the learner.
- The tool is based on the South African schools curriculum. So learners can be taught various learning themes or concepts in class and go to their school and/or home computers to practice, test and improve their understanding of those concepts.
- The tool generates a lot of exercises for testing the understanding of the learners. The learners get points for each exercise they do correctly. When learners have accumulated enough points, parents or teachers can use those points to incentivise or encourage learners to do their mathematics work.
- MathsTeacha generates and tests learners on a lot more exercises that learners do at school. These exercises are grouped into four different levels. When a learner has done a lower level succesfully, they qualify to do the next level until all levels are completed. This improves a learners level of understanding as well their chances to do well in class.
- A learners performance records are saved in the system. This facility enables the teachers or parents to view the records of each learner and assess his or her performance. If there is a need, records can be printed and used in any other way.
